The Journey Called Life
Throughout today, I watched various parts of the memorial service held in honor of the late Aretha Franklin. Beautiful and very poignant.
It reminded me of quite a number of things.
May we truly appreciate the gifts we receive daily and never pay attention to.
May we all have love and truly love.
May we learn to accept that whatever has a beginning always had an ending and be ok with the twists and turns of life.
May we never allow the tough times we face or bad experiences we may encounter, change who we are.
It reminded me of quite a number of things.
- The fact that life as we know and live it, is a gift. We all go to sleep daily with the thought of tomorrow but not all of us see the next day.
- 2 years ago, I lost a man I consider the love of my life...my Daddy. The moment I heard the news was when I truly understood the idiom, " the bottom fell out". I dont think I have recovered from that second / moment in time. With his passing, I finally accepted the ( to a large degree) futility of life and have also learnt to be grateful for any love we have in our lives.
- The memorial service also made me think of relationships we have. Family, friends, other loved ones, those we meet in passing...
- Another great lesson I have learnt is that at the end of it all, we all will be memories to those we have met. It is up to us to be good or bad memories.
- It also made me realize ( again).that we are all just spiritual bodies having human experiences. When our time is up, that is it.
May we be ok with accepting people the way they are and not make excuses for anyone.
May we be ok with letting go when the need arises
Most importantly, may we always remember this, Life is a journey; Love it, live it.
Most importantly, may we always remember this, Life is a journey; Love it, live it.

The Story's Over...
Have you ever been in a situation where you meet someone and you click.
Something about that person speaks to you and it seems like you were destined to meet?
Sometimes it leads to the best stories and happy endings. Other times, you wonder "what was I thinking? "
That person who you feel has become a part of you just feels it isnt worth it anymore ( which by the way, is allowed) but doesn't think that telling you that is worth it.
It hurts, realizing that somewhere along the line, that common path had a fork in it and while you kept walking, believing you weren't alone all you had was your shadow.
Life sure will go on and you must know that there are pages and chapters we live through. Some.people will be pages, or even a few lines or paragraphs. Others will be chapters and they all come to an end.
Go through the pain, allow yourself to feel hurt and mourn the loss but pick yourself up and get moving. We all end up how we should.
In the words of Az Yet,
" Time to close the book to this story
I don't want to read it no more
Time to close the book to this story
Another writer will come along, I'm sure"

I Have Been So Busy...
"I have been so busy lately" seemed to be all he had to say .
Ntsoaki couldn't hold back the tears as she recalled how months ago, Buhle had come into her life and against her better judgment,, she allowed him in.
Moments of care free chats, phone calls...now, he says he is busy?
She begins to question herself. Did she make it too easy for him? Now that he has her heart, he is too busy to stay in touch like he used to?
Against her better judgment, she holds on, they meet and it all seems perfect although they know this isn't the perfect situation... But this reality seemed to be relegated to the back of their minds because all they saw were 2 people who seemed to complement each other in ways they didn't expect. How do you let go of that?
Ntsoaki is snapped back to reality by the sound of her phone ringing. It isn't Buhle so she lets it ring and gets ready for bed. As she listens to some music, she can't keep stop thinking about the situation.
She is never too busy to want to hear from him; perhaps he is now bored?
She used to be "important" to him, at least, that is what she thought.
Well, it makes sense, the silence , the excuses...
